Mad Enough to Marry Soguy shows up late for prom night and drop dead gorgeous heroine pitches a hissy fit Hero leaves returns years later helps heroine out by letting her stay in his home while hers in renovated blah blah blahDidn't like it at all and I normally like Christie Ridgway Of course this was an earlier work Confusing plot light on the details in some areas but it was 1 from the grocery store I normally don't really review Harleuin novels only because most of them are enjoyable reads but follow a same cookie cutter pattern I will say that Ms Ridgway's books have been enjoyable reads and I'm of course always happy forwell a happy ending I've read back to back This Day Forward and then this book Mad Enough to marry I'm also always happy to see heroines that were women in their mid twenties that were still virgins I know many romance authors these days find this unrealistic and not following the trendier liberal thinking when it comes to sex and relationships However I'm perhaps a stick in the mud when it comes to still finding the rare author that will writer her heroine with the unrealistic ideals to wait for the right man In this case the heroNow that I've gone on my soap box I'll get to the reason I did a review for this book It's incredibly petty and someone can call me on italthough I wish you wouldn't joke I was reading this book and observed tht the hero paid at the heroine's kissing booth with a 1000 bill I'm a sucker for trivia and this was a game I used to play with my mother while growing up I was always uizzed on which president was on US currency I knew that Cleveland was at least after the 1930s on a high denomination bill that is no longer in circulation I looked at the copyright date for this book and saw that it was 2002 unless I was reading a revised copy But in any event I couldn't help but find the use of a 1000 bill a bit odd 1000 bills are so rare that these days you'll only find them with private collectors I did notice that the words used to describe the hero when he pulled out the money were well worn bills Still the use of such a valued item didn't really work with me Until the end of the book however I assumed perhaps the hero didn't know the value of such a bill and the heroine would be later told that the bill was sold to a collector and the prom committee earned far money than 1000 That scenario didn't happen so I'm left again unsettled I realize of course that the high denomination bill was for effect Much so than a regular 100 butDespite my nitpicking the story was uick had lots of chemistry between the hero and heroine and had a happy ending I do recommend this author TRULY MADLY DEEPLYLong lean Logan Chase was dangerous to Elena O'Brien Which was why she had to be mad to consider his offer of shelter Yes she needed a temporary home while hers was renovated but live with Logan the man she once dreamed of loving forever That is until he broke her heartOkay so Logan had a lot to make up for After all as a restless brooding young man he'd left Elena high and dry and on prom night of all nights But opening his home to her now was surely insane Because suddenly he was sharing cozy meals and even cozier kisses with Elena Once he took this innocent beauty to his bed would this confirmed bachelor be mad enough toto marry
