Her Man From Shilo was a deeply tender and emotional read from start to finish The book tells the story of Daimiana since the age of four she had the man she was going to marry all picked out and just waiting to grow up so she could grab her chanceRafferty has always seen Daimiana as the little girl that through the years has grown into a woman that sets his soul of fire and is most of all off limits But as fate would have it they do marry however after seven years of marriage and they are still living apart and have never consummated the marriage but after Rafferty's stepfather decides it is time for him to marry the girl next door it gives Rafferty the out he has been looking forTogether he and Daimiana decide to bring their marriage out into the open only it remains a marriage in name only as Rafferty battles his own demons and fights to do everything in his power not to complicate it with sex Daimiana however has plans she has the ring and the marriage certificate all she needs is the man in her bedThe character of Daimiana was the kind I like strong and feisty willing to fight for what she wants however at the same time she was also able to back off when the moment called for it which made her likeable and fun to read Rafferty however was one I wanted to strangle and shake just to wake him up to let him see what is standing right in front of him and tell him to get his butt in gear before he looses it allThe backdrop setting of a gorgeous land was exuisitely described by the author leaving me with a sense of peace and serenity as I envisioned the mountain tops and green valleys The dialogue was strong and emotional falling into place with the rocky mountains as it portrays the turmoil and heartache the characters are feeling much like the mountains being as unpredictable as they are romanticThe sexual level was of a high to low kind as the two characters much like a horse going from a gallop to a full out run go from hot to cold in a matter of seconds If your the kind of reader that prefers your books to spell it out for you from the moment they touch right through to the moment after this read is not for you the author left the imagination of sex up to the reader by going from the kiss straight to the moment afterThis has always been a dislike for me however this author did the uniue trick of pulling it off by letting the words spoken afterwards distract me as reader all together from the unwritten sex scene I have come to know and bringing me back to the real message being outlinedI highly recommend this read for lovers of romance with loads of drama heartache and love found I predict many dramatic reads coming from this author45 star review She will do anything to finally have him in her arms

Her Man From Shilo is an example of what happens when an author carefully weaves together past and present The story is delicately balanced between the present day battle Daimiana fights to prove to Raff that their marriage is worthy of a real shot and the beautifully nostalgic flashbacks that provide the reader with the story of how two close friends fell in love before realizing it The characters' personalities the dynamic supporting cast and the truthful take on how to fight for love in a society that doesn't always put that emotion first make this a beautiful grown up love story

I love a good category romance full of cliches as much as the next person but this one was a bit over the top If you have ever read an Old Skool Diana Palmer Long Tall Texan novel you can figure out the plotcliches fairly easily We have 1 An angry father who insists on a shotgun wedding when he finds his daughter in a compromising condition2 Younginnocentvirginal woman with an older man Said daughter is 18 at the time of the marriage and the guy is 283 The hero who is secretly in love with the girl is a rancher who doesn't want her to regret being married and wants her to have life experiences Whatever the heck that means4Hero uses his money to pay her to go to college in San Diego and buys her a house and car5 Seven years pass before they finally work out their problems6 Hero has a controlling stepfather who wants him to marry for money7 Hero presents wife thwart his plans and they share the same bedroom but not the same bed to convince the family that they are in love and have a happy marriage8 The Big Misunderstanding trope is everywhere in this book The hh are both madly in love with one another but are afraid to tell each other because they don't won't to ruin each others happiness and dreams or some other sort of crap9 The hh have sex but the hero apologizes because he wanted her to give her virginity to someone she loves blahblahblah heroine is devastated because OF COURSE she loves the idiot hero10 Another woman makes a play for the hero which of course the heroine sees before she goes riding frantically riding off on a horse through snow and ice11 Said stupidity of riding through the snow leads to her being thrown off the horse with life altering injuries To say what kind would be a spoilerThese are only a few of the cliches that appear in the book They may not seem like very many but the novella is approximately 125 pages long Even though the novella is a series of cliches the uality of the author's writing was good and the character development was ok There were some formatting issues that made it difficult to tell when the author was using a flashback or the action took place in the present
