Why Kathie? Oh why? I just felt her heart wasn't in this story and it showed The writing was superb but it just didn't come together for me compared to her other books And I guess it probably because this was a commissioned series rather than her 'own' I find this uite common when the romance writers are asked to do storylines where the characters aren't theirsKathie DeNosky always delivers a good readable romance so read other reviews to balance this For the first time in a very long time the hero grated on me Chance Lassiter came over a lecherous creep and not even the magic pen of Kathie DeNosky could save him He had no finesse about him his paws everywhere all over the heroine The whole rough and ready cowboy with large brim black hat boots and chambray shirt was over done Over the top The only thing that kept me going was this was one of my writers But even in the story it was acknowledged what kind of man he was I guess DeNosky knew it as well because normally when she's really into a story and characters she just focuses on the relationship But in this book it read like 'how to run a ranch 101' manual I guess that was a good point because it was educational in that respect Normally it's just about the charactersOverall still a good romance I just didn't like the hero

This was my favorite story in the series yet I really like Chance and was drawn to him Fee is special But once again a parent’s actions causes their child to have a skewed fear of love or lack of it Once again miscommunication by not hearing the whole message almost destroyed the happiness of Fee and ChanceMuch mystery still waits for the Lassiters

Very good book Chance saw Fee at his sister's wedding and was immediately attracted to her Fee noticed him also and not just as a gorgeous man who appeals to the woman in her As a PR expert she thinks he'd be perfect as the new face of the Lassiters someone who can get people remembering that they're a family oriented business The problem is that Chance has no interest in being in the public eyeFee wants the opportunity to convince him and Chance just wants to get to know her better so he invites her to come stay on the ranch with him Chance figures he can show her that he's a working cowboy not someone suited for the limelight and Fee is eually convinced she can convince him that it's not as bad as he thinksFee and Chance are about as different from each other as they could get Fee is all city girl used to bright lights fancy clothes and sports cars Chance is all country He dislikes the crowds loves his open spaces and taking care of the ranch They do have one thing in common Both of them have let a parent's actions influence the way they live their lives Chance was surprised by the discovery that his father had had an affair fathering a child by the woman He had idolized his dad and that knowledge has him uestioning his own tendencies If his father had cheated on his mother certainly that means that he could end up doing the same thing He hates the idea of putting a woman through what his mom went through and has decided he won't marry at all At the same time Fee is determined that she will never let a relationship with a man influence her career Her mom had left a successful career to marry her dad and when he left them her mom fell apart and never went back to her careerChance and Fee can't deny the attraction they feel for each other Since neither wants a long term relationship they agree to enjoy each others' company with no expectations Those intentions fade fast the time they spend together I loved seeing Fee become a part of the ranch so uickly Her introduction to the horses and riding was so much fun to read She also found that she was enjoying her time there far than she expected Her job was beginning to feel less important than the way she felt about Chance and that scared her Chance went from looking at a no strings encounter to trying to find a way to make Fee want to stay It took him awhile to admit to himself that what he felt was love He planned a go big moment that blew up in his face and it took a talk with his sister for him to realize where he had gone wrong The ending was terrific

very good I can't wait to read the next one I like the idea of the series being written by different authors for each book it doesn't get old or the same words rewritten each time

Overall disappointing series In other continuities the communication between the authors shows much better then this one where it was plainly obvious that they barely communicated I didn't find much of a spark i most of the romances Yvonne Lindsays being the shining star of the series The rest sadly felt very phoned in
