I have been desperately wanting to get my hands on a copy of this book, from the second I finished The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson and it was definitely worth the wait In fact my only complaint about this book is that I read it far too fast as I was so absorbed by it, and I fear I will have an even longer wait for book 3 in this fabulous series Those of you who read my reviews regularly may have noticed I may be a bit of a Paige Toon fangirl, and having read this my opinions of her hav I have been desperately wanting to get my hands on a copy of this book, from the second I finished The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson and it was definitely worth the wait In fact my only complaint about this book is that I read it far too fast as I was so absorbed by it, and I fear I will have an even longer wait for book 3 in this fabulous series Those of you who read my reviews regularly may have noticed I may be a bit of a Paige Toon fangirl, and having read this my opinions of her have gone up even higher I Knew You Were Trouble deals with when Jessie returns to England, and having to go back to school, while knowing she is the daughter of Johnny Jefferson, but trying to act normal, It isn t before long that the press get wind of who she is, and then Jessie s life changes for ever We see a lot of Jessie s friendships both with her school friends and new boyfriend Tom, but also the crowd she was hanging around with in Los Angeles last time around The budding relationship with Tom, is very sweet, and it is clear he really cares about her It is also good to see Jessie is making new friends at school and that an older friendship is starting to strengthen again Although this can be read as a stand alone, I am so glad I had read the first one, as I find with series, theyou read, the better you get to know and love the characters This is definitely true of Meg and Johnny They are adjusting as well to having a new 15 year old daughter in their lives, and there are some lovely scenes between Johnny and Jessie It is clear that he really loves her and is trying his hardest to be a father figure, and relations between Jessie and Meg seem a lot friendlier this time around One of the things I love about this book is that it gives real insight into the crazy life of a teenager of famous parents, although the media frenzy surrounding Jessie was always going to be insane, since she is the long lost daughter I think young adults especially that read this, that may be celebrity mad, will stop and think twice if instant celebrity is really what they want, after reading this book, as all Jessie really wants is a normal life, without bodyguards following her everywhere She starts longing for the very things that the majority of people take for granted privacy, anonymity, and to be able to decide which boy shes actually in love with I Knew You Were Trouble is a fabulous continuation of Jessie Jefferson s story It is witty, upbeat and entertaining and just perfect to read over the summer holidays And don t worry about it being a young adult title, older adults will enjoy this too, or at least I know I did I loved every single second of this book, and read it in a matter of hours, as I couldn t bring myself to put it down Thank you so much to Netgalley and Simon Schuster Childrens for this review copy This was my honest review

As soon as I finished book 1, The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson, I immediately dived into this one Now that Jessie knows just who her father is, and has bonded with him, returning to her old, ordinary life is a difficulty Though the media and public are aware that Johnny Jefferson has a secret, teenage daughter, they don t know it s Jessie Soon, however, that information is leaked to the press, and Jessie finds herself back on a plane to LA Now that she understands the implications of As soon as I finished book 1, The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson, I immediately dived into this one Now that Jessie knows just who her father is, and has bonded with him, returning to her old, ordinary life is a difficulty Though the media and public are aware that Johnny Jefferson has a secret, teenage daughter, they don t know it s Jessie Soon, however, that information is leaked to the press, and Jessie finds herself back on a plane to LA Now that she understands the implications of being the daughter of a famous rock star, Jessie has a lot of thinking to do does she move to LA permanently, or deal with the public scrutiny back at home.I think I liked both books in the series equally, and am so happy to see that the Jefferson family unit is getting stronger and stronger every second Meg could ve been the stereotypical evil stepmother , but she isn t, and her love for Jessie keeps growing She honestly treats her the same as she does her biological children, though isn t trying to replace Jessie s late mother, Candy Barney and Phoenix are just as cute as they were in book 1 What made everything so much better was how Johnny has really matured, and is trying as hard as he can to help Jessie, without being pushy about it He knows she has an amazing voice, and is helping her train herself through her stage fright. On that note, Jessie really comes into her own in this book I was pleasantly surprised with the majority of the decisions she made in I Knew You Were Trouble, though a few rubbed me the wrong way Not to go into too much detail, I am really looking forward to seeing how these decisions pan out in book 3, which Toon mentions in her acknowledgements.Though I ve only discovered this series, I have become a quick fan of Toon s writing, and may try her adult books in the future The Jessie Jefferson series is a wonderful UKYA contemporary series, and one I would recommend to lovers of that genre

You guys can t imagine how I felt when this book arrived at my doorstep I ve been waiting for it since I ve finished The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson last year.Jessie has spent the summer with her new dad and rockstar Johnny Jefferson and his family Now she s back in England with Stu and her own bodyguard She goes back to school, where she sees her ex best friend Libby who has a new best friend now, Amanda again and also Tom Something started between them, but without even a date, You guys can t imagine how I felt when this book arrived at my doorstep I ve been waiting for it since I ve finished The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson last year.Jessie has spent the summer with her new dad and rockstar Johnny Jefferson and his family Now she s back in England with Stu and her own bodyguard She goes back to school, where she sees her ex best friend Libby who has a new best friend now, Amanda again and also Tom Something started between them, but without even a date, she went off for summer She feels weird seeing him again, but the sparks are there immediately I loved reading about how everything developed between them and Tom is really cute with her.At school she meets Lou, she s new and the two girls get along really well Jessie takes Lou around and also takes her to parties At one party she see her friend Natalie again and Tom and his friend Chris are also there, a great bunch of friends, I have to say.Jessie struggles with being recognized and when someone slips it to the papers, it s too much for her When Jessie is a bit reckless and not careful enough, Johnny has enough and takes her back to LA Jessie struggles at first, but enjoys time with her half brothers Phoenix and Barney, and also Johnny s wife Meg Meg and Jessie get along really well, which made me very happy, I like them both, so I m glad it turned out to be this way.LA means seeing Agnes again and also her brother Jack, but Jessie is with Tom She is really drawn to Jack though and they spendandtime together I don t wanna sayhere, but let s just say Jessie has to figure out who she really loves and then make a decision And she s all over the place with that. What I loved in this story was that Jessie discovered singing, I really enjoyed the scenes where she worked with Johnny and it s so awesome to see him as her dad It s so sweet to see, how their relationship has grown and that Jessie feelsandat home in LA, not just because of Johnny, but also because of Meg and the boys. This story is truly magnetic Jessie is a bubbly character and it s so awesome to read her perspective, I felt like being in her head Full of ups and downs, hilarious moments and also sad parts, the perfect mixture and so entertaining The writing is really gripping, I couldn t put the book down only when I really had to , such a FABULOUS read The ending has left me quite excited of what comes next for Jessie, when Paige Tell me, it s soon

The next instalment of the spin off series about Johnny Jefferson s daughter I love the choice of title being a Taylor Swift song, just Jessie istrouble than most of the boys It s starting to show were some of her traits are coming from It s also getting impossible to live the best of both worlds. At the start I m liking Jessie and were the story is going I like her in the UK and even in the States with Johnny, Meg and the boys but concerning Jack, I m totally against what she does to T The next instalment of the spin off series about Johnny Jefferson s daughter I love the choice of title being a Taylor Swift song, just Jessie istrouble than most of the boys It s starting to show were some of her traits are coming from It s also getting impossible to live the best of both worlds. At the start I m liking Jessie and were the story is going I like her in the UK and even in the States with Johnny, Meg and the boys but concerning Jack, I m totally against what she does to Tom Again an enjoyable read but I m deducting a star for how Jessie treated Tom, Tom was so lovely and he didn t deserve to be cheated on again There s something that makes me like Jessiein the UK than the USA and i m wondering how much I m going to like her in the next one, I m hoping to be pleasantly surprised

This is the second book in the young adult series from one of my favourite authors Paige Toon and let me tell you I am keeping my fingers crossed that she has another foray into the world of Young Adult romance again soon because I love this series so much When you know you are dealing with the second book in a series you do sometimes worry that you are in for a bit of a slump in the action, that you are being set up from the culmination of the trilogy in book 3 but this really wasn t the case This is the second book in the young adult series from one of my favourite authors Paige Toon and let me tell you I am keeping my fingers crossed that she has another foray into the world of Young Adult romance again soon because I love this series so much When you know you are dealing with the second book in a series you do sometimes worry that you are in for a bit of a slump in the action, that you are being set up from the culmination of the trilogy in book 3 but this really wasn t the case in this novel This book has action from the very beginning to the very end Jessie is up to as much in this book as we saw her get up to in book one only this time she is very definitely doing it across 2 continents This book has also ramped up the romance, can you say love triangle I loved this added intrigue because a love triangle in 2 different countries is a whole different kettle of fish, This triangle really explores the fact that Jessie s may be the daughter of a rich and famous rockstar but aside from having just lost her mum she is also dealing with first love and the confusion that that can bring Jessie really does have to deal with a lot in this book she has all of that plus the possibility of singing and school work and a whole new family wow there really is a lot in this book Safe to say this book does not fall into the second book in a series trap It has a definite story arc of its own, things really ramp up from Jessie and if you are here because you fell in love with Johnny Jefferson in Johnny and Meg s stories then there is a decent dose of him too I loved it and can t wait to dive into book 3
