I liked this book and feel like the bullying from the other girls was pretty realistic Also the way guys don't realize that they are dating mean girls I appreciated the way she figured out how to make real friends and became strong enough not to put up with the fake friends

Kayla and BenKayla's brother moved to live with their father in Connecticut His best friend Ben still hung out with her anyway She'd had a crush on him since they were kids but never did anything about it They would never date because he thought of her as if they were siblings Kayla's best friend Sabrina had Kayla help her when she decided that she wanted to date Ben Sabrina along with their other friend Jazz treated Kayla terribly Kayla was hiding from Jacob at a party in a closet Ben found her and took her home On the way she confessed that she didn't want to kiss any boys because they were always sticking their tongues down her throat making it a traumatic experience for her Ben let her know that they were all doing it wrong and someday it wouldn't be so badKayla was clueless immature and very self deprecating It was difficult to read with all of her spazzy thoughts She let her friends treat her bad and never really stood up to them She tried but only half heartedly They walked all over her It was just too unrealistic for high schoolers The maturity levels of the main female characters were of early middle schoolers I didn't like that at all There wasn't any realistic depth to the characters including Ben I could go on about what I didn't like but I have other things to do right nowThe book was in Kayla's POV with poor editing at times

Warning This review contains back handed complimentsThis story was a lot like Melanie Marks' s other books in that it was a sweet uick clean read It also shared some characters with her other books since most of them seem to be set in the same universe Thankfully it was unlike her other books in that these two main characters didn't share all of the same personality traits as most of her other characters This story and these two characters were a little original than her others That was refreshing This story does follow the same style of writing though so whether or not you like this one is dependent on whether you like any of her other books If your heart for some inexplicable reason is touched by her sweet high school stories of hidden love and devotion despite the writing style being less than perfect you'll love this oneor at least like it If you haven't enjoyed her other books you won't like this one either I did like this book and most of her other books too not the middle school books I refuse to read those I don't know what it is about her books but I can't seem to put them down while simultaneously being ashamed to readenjoy them

It was cute easy read but not my favourite Now the excerpt at the end about Mason and him reading the diary I loved that Def just bought Louder than Words hoping it has something to do with that
